Moet & Chandon Food Pairing

Claude Moët founded Maison Moët in 1743, and since then, Moët & Chandon has been associated with the sparkle of Success and Glamour. The historical House of Moët has been a producer of exotic wines known for quality taste and fresh flavours for over 270 years.

In this post, we’ll discuss the best kinds of food to pair with 3 notable Moët & Chandon wines: Brut Impérial, Nectar Impérial, and Rosé Impérial. Let’s dive in.

MOET & CHANDON BRUT IMPÉRIAL

Moët Impérial is the Maison’s most iconic champagne. Created in 1869, it represents the Moët & Chandon style for its brilliantly fruity taste, seductive palate, and elegant maturity. Created with over 100 different wines, of which 20-30% reserve wines specially selected to enhance their maturity, complexity, and consistency, the assembly reflects the distinctive and complementary characteristics of the three grape varieties (Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay).

Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial has radiant aromas, unleashing bright yellow-fleshed fruits (apple, pear, yellow peach), honey, floral nuances (lime blossom), and elegant blond notes (brioche and fresh nuts). Its palate is seductive, richly flavourful, and smooth combining generosity and subtlety, fullness and vigour, followed by delicately fresh crispiness (fruit with seeds), to reveal the magical balance of champagne.

This balanced champagne goes well with different kinds of food: raw or just slightly cooked white fish, seafood, poached or roasted white or red meat, mixed salads, and pasta. You may also accompany these dishes with slightly sweet fresh fruits, cauliflower, cabbage, rice, or artichokes.

MOET & CHANDON ROSÉ IMPÉRIAL

Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial is an alluring, smooth champagne with seductive and enthralling undertones. At its core, Rosé Impérial is a glamorous, radiant, romantic expression of the Moët & Chandon style, a unique and distinct style well-known around the world for its bright fruitiness, a seductive palate, and stylish maturity. This scintillating expression is marked by intense red fruits – strawberry, raspberry, and red currant – and an enchanting nose combining those scents with pepper and rose.

Rosé Impérial’s palate is flamboyant and perfectly combines intensity and roundness: initially, fleshy and juicy, then firm (fruit stone), with a subtle herbal (mint) finish.

Concerning the food pairing, Rosé Impérial can be enjoyed with beef, chicken, duck, and game bird, grilled shellfish, coloured fish, red meat and poultry, marinated grilled or fried. It can also be enjoyed with ripe vegetables, salads and greens, and colourful, fresh red fruits.

MOET & CHANDON NECTAR IMPÉRIAL

Moët & Chandon Nectar Impérial is a voluptuously gourmet expression of the Moët & Chandon style – a style renowned for its bright fruitiness, seductive palate, and elegance maturity. It’s an ingenious blend of the three main Champagne grape varietals (the intensity of Pinot Noir, the fruitiness of Pinot Meunier, and the freshness of Chardonnay) and carefully-chosen reserve wines that give this demi-sec champagne its fresh finish.

On the nose, Nectar Impérial has generous and rich aromas of tropical fruits (pineapple, mango), stoned fruits (Mirabelle plum, apricot), and is complemented by nuances of grain (malt) and sweet spices (cinnamon and vanilla).

On the palate, this premium demi-sec champagne demonstrates a succulent blend of richness and elegance, rich creaminess, and vibrant freshness (grapefruit).

In terms of food pairing, Moët & Chandon Nectar Impérial goes well with combinations of sweet-sour and sugary-sweet spices. Other recommended foods include fish, white meat and poultry, fat vegetables, ripe, white-fleshed or yellow-fleshed, dried and candied fruit, complemented by oily nuts and spices.
